Americanitis Field Research: Bicycle Brigade

Join Alison Pebworth as she pedals around San Francisco gathering data about modern day Americanitis. Americanitis, also known as neurasthenia, was a stress related ailment identified in the late 1800's as a symptom of the industrial age. Meet at SoEx at noon for a brief introduction and training session. The group will set off at 12:30 pm and head out to five different SF neighborhoods (Mission, Castro, Haight, Hayes Valley and Powell and Market Streets) to collect information on modern day Americanitis.

The group will head back to SoEx to debrief on the day over lemon bars and beer. The research gathered today and over the course of Pebworth's 6-week project will be used to fashion an elixir specific to a San Franciscan notion of Americanitis.
