Boy! What a Girl! is a 1947 Black film starring Tim Moore (Kingfish from Amos and Andy).
The film opens on The Slam Stewart Trio at practice with Beryl Booker on piano.
Beryl was a prodigy who taught herself to play as a child in Philadelphia's in the 1920s.
She went on to cut a half-dozen albums of her own, as pianist, vocalist, & even leader of the all-women Beryl Booker Trio.
Pianist for such greats as Billie Holiday & Dinah Washington, she was all but forgotten by the '60s,
