KANSAS CITY, Mo. (NBC)-- A four-month-long NBC Action News Investigation has uncovered government videos, photos, and thousands of pages of reports detailing human corpses being used like impact test dummies in NHTSA funded tests.

Experts agree that the research saves lives, but disagree on the what type of disclosure willed body programs should give donors and their families prior to the tests More...

When NBC Action News watched the impact test videos carefully, side-by-side, it was difficult to see a difference between the human corpse in one video and the traditional crash test dummy in the other.

The familiar dummy and a human cadaver are positioned nearly exactly alike and adorned with the same black and yellow photo target circles on their skulls, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles.

  • GOD I miss the news in KC.. Moved away over a year ago, and the news here just sucks.. When the highlight of the news is that they're almost done with the construction on 57th street in Sioux Falls, you know it's bad..

  • LMAO! Best response to this to date!

Thanks for the laugh... it's just the opposite for me, having moved from Milwaukee to Phoenix, lol.

  • People are idiots the testing is help saving people. Im sure there parents could care less how they were helping. Theres a book called Stiff it talks about how many people are saved for one crash tested cadaver like 130 people. Look if you care whats going to happen to your body don't donate.

  • Landmine safety research. LMAO. That's what I want to do with my body.

  • Cadavers? Forget that, they should use live death row prisoners.

  • I don't get it. 4 months of research...to prove what? The bodies where used in research and this helps people and car designs for safety. There is nothing wrong! The system is working.

  • I'd donate my body to Bugatti or Lamborgini ... man, that would be one "final ride"!

  • they need to stop making this a big deal i donate my body for crash test impact

  • they need to stop making this a big deal

  • Before anyone gets on their high horse about human dignity, stop and reflect that the next life saved in a car crash could be yours, or your child's.

  • Wow. they investigated something widely known, widely documented, and beneficial to humanity through broadening our understanding. What's next, an in-depth commentary on sliced bread?

  • jak mozna testowac na trupach idioci .

  • This is an absurd "investigative report" they did here. They spent 4 months on this?! I'm sorry, but I doubt most people care once their dead whether they're saving lives by being cut up by students or doing crash tests.

Also- if you watch the first video, the crash test dummy and cadaver reacted COMPLETELY different, so this nonsense about it being difficult to tell the difference between the two is...well, nonsense.

  • @mijnshit good luck on your eventual journey toward becoming maggot food
