Emanuelson has one of the best sliding tackles there is! He just smoothly steals the ball out between your legs, he did this at Ajax almost every match.

Stepovers aren't useless, I swear that's really impressive and destabilizing when you have to defend on someone who do that.
When someone do that, it becomes harder to take the ball. Because you have to make very quick choices, and it can immobilize you, because you have to decide "I move a little bit at each stepovers to not let an open space, or I stay completely at the middle ?"
And finally, make as much stepovers allows you to wait for an opening, the defender can't take risks during this.
