  • My dad works a sanaria and is one of the owners.

  • That's not true, a few may get tempted to run treatments in a way to maximize profits, but the reason is complex--for one they have loads of debts right after med school, and two they have to constantly find ways to make up for lost profits due to health insurance companies refusing to cover expenses for patients, and three they have trouble collecting bills from patients. The problem is not doctors, but is the system we have here-it's too fractured.

  • And they really don't make a decent salary until after all those years of schooling that makes them on average over $200,000 in debt. I feel doctors get cornered into going into specialties that are more profitable, even though they can make more of a difference to society in less profitable areas that are more concerned with prevention.

  • a lot of Doctors in the US want health care to be universalized. I think we'll be headed towards that direction within a decade or two. And by the way, US doctors are over-educated- they spend over 4 years undergrad, 4 years med school, plus 4-5+ years residency/specialty.

  • No. You're a well informed citizen - which makes you a BETTER American.

Welcome to the new age. We are world citizens, welcome home.

  • Am I a bad American if I watch this?

  • Our GP's get a small cut of every prescription drug they flog off to someone by the Pharmaceutical companies so in turn your description of the Doctors being "Prescription Pimps" is right on the money haj.

  • You're right!.... They're also 'Prescription Pimps' and feel that's all they learned in med. school!

  • Universal Health Care in USA will bring in WAY smarter doctors which USA needs more than the people even know .Most Doctors here are under-educated ...if the people really knew how under-educated...they would move to France or els-where ...Cuba ...
