Series #52 Part #3
Fly/In Cruise/In Video Magazine

This airplane appeared in the movie "AMELIA" starring Hilary Swank & Richard Gere.

We attend the annual "WOOD, FABRIC, & TAILWHEELS FLY-IN" held at Lee Bottom Flying Field (64I) near Hanover, Indiana. We visit with Joe Sheperd (Owner, Restorer) as he describes his immaculate and rare 1936 Lockheed Electra Jr. 12A Airplane. This Lockheed is similiar to the airplane Amelia Earhart was lost in and will be featured in the movie "Amelia". For more information on Joe Sheperd and his 1936 Lockheed Electra Jr. 12A (NC2072) Click on: www.ElectraJr.com

  • wow what a beauty

  • Wow, that's crazy I used to live right down the street from this guy growing up in Fayetteville...

  • Beautiful plane! I guess by now you are probably tired of the Earheart questions everywhere you go with this plane.

  • Just saw the PBS program on Amelia earhart and this wonderful plane.

  • Take-off at 4:15

  • You got that right.

  • Gorgeous looking plane - isn't this one of the best civil planes to look at, especially polished liked that?

  • I saw Joe and his Electra at the 41st Cracker Fly-In in Gainesville, GA this year. He did an amazing fly-by prior to landing and taxiing in. Sure turned a lot of heads... Beautiful plane, keep it flying...

  • Just saw this plane in person today, you could feel the rumble in your chest as in took off. Awesome.

  • Thats my dream airplane. If i could have 1 airplane for free, that would be it! Amelia Earhart has made it famous. There's a movie about her coming up. I imagine the lockhhed electra will be in it a bunch.
