A video showing how op amp based relaxation oscillators work. Includes description of how they work as well as equations on how to calculate the period and frequency of the oscillator.

Presented by David Williams ( http://www.elen.ca ) from the Electronic Engineering Technology department at Okanagan College ( http://www.okanagan.bc.ca/electronics )

  • @TehJordanIsWin You better put an appropriate current limiting resistor in series with the LED, and connect the cathode (negative end) of the LED to -12, not ground.

  • @TehJordanIsWin Thanks a lot!

  • @LokiClock Through the Vout. Just connect the positive lead of the LED to Vout and the negative end to ground, and the LED should oscillate at the same rate as the oscillator

  • How could you connect the output to an LED?

  • well done

  • all of that equilibrium shifting doesn't seem all that relaxing to me..
