live 1992 at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Michael Brecker (sax), Randy Brecker (tp), Mike Stern (git), James Genus (b), Dave Weckl (dr), George Whitty (key)
@rlbarisaxman I think you miss the point. What they are playing is completely like a conversation and they don't rip Randy to shreds. It ain't about how many notes you play surely. It's about what you're saying
This band was the best band we could hear back in the 90's with the elektric band... outstanding composion , arrangement, new arrangement of old song, perfect groove by weckl , same of the best musicians on the planet in only one band etc ...
isn't that what's great about playing with a band though?? robin eubanks always tells his students to play shit they hear from other people's solo's like a conversation.
XD at the end of Randy's first solo. He must have felt like shit after he played his little lick at the end and then had both his brother and Mike Stern play it right away and expand on it, and totally rip Randy to shreds! Hahaha. Great playing. R.I.P. Michael.
