Rick Warren controversy

I had serious issues with this man's book, THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, because it preached a love ministry that left out all controversial element of Scripture, like the consequences of sin. This vid shows him for what he really is, a politician, not a man of God.

Why is Rachel flipping out so much when Rick is asked about his opinions? I am not saying I agree or disagree with anything that Rick said; I don't know that much about him. What I prefer to do is take whatever anyone says (Rick or Rachel or whoever) with a grain of salt and compare it to what the scripture says. The word of God is my final authority, not man's musings.

Why not allow homosexuals in the church, when liars, thieves, idolaters and adulterers are allowed in church? We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. If the church says "no" to one sinner, why allow any in? The bible says none are righteous, no not one! Jesus said he came for sinners, not for the righteous. Christians need to stop hating gay people and learn to love them like Jesus. The Lord hates sin, not the sinner.

in his book he just asserts things and makes bold claims about what God wants, which is ridiculous enough without EVIDENCE, but he doesn't even provide scriptural backing! Anyone who takes his book seriously has the critical thinking capacity of a sheep. There is no evidence God exists, and less evidence that Rick Warren is right about anything relevant.

I was on his Saddle Back Website over the last couple of days. I was advised by Church supporter name of Stacey, that as the famous John Lennon had mocked God, God had ensured that he was therefore killed by this madman with a gun. She went on to warn me that God has done this with mockers in the past (a long line of them in fact) & he could just as easily do it with me! Notwithstanding, there are members on their advocating Perry's idea that women give birth to the Rapists child. Rather nasty!

Gay marriage is obviously a sin issue. People can talk all they want , but must come to the issue of sin if you don't believe you have sin I would ask you if you will eventually die. You must answer with yes as all people do and I would say, that death is the consequence for sin and pain is evidence of death happening. Homosexuality is a sin and contrary to human reproduction. You should probably read the Bible before talking so harshly about this man. There is truth in what he is saying, but he also needs to read scripture and know that he is suppose to slow down and think before he blurts out anything he is thinking at the moment.
