2:50 I cant feel anything.
3:10 This is 4 or 5 hours after surgery and I think Im doing ok, all things considered.
3:56 Hi, everybody. Its been almost 20 hours since my surgery its about 10:40 the next day, I finished around 3:00. Everything went pretty well, the doctor said I bled a little more on this side so its going to be a little more swollen. The pain hasnt been that bad, the worst part was getting the catheter tube removed - that was not fun. This morning I drank some apple juice and some water and Im going to try and wait for this ice cream to melt and then I can drink it out of this, so - its difficult because my throat is really sore but other than that I think Im doing pretty well. Im supposed to go home tomorrow so I have one more night here. I made the mistake of looking at myself in the mirror which was pretty depressing so Ill try not to do that again. Uh, but yeah so thats all for now I guess Ill make another video tomorrow and well see if I feel any better. Bye.

  • Do they completely make sure your asleep through out the whole thing because i have to get the same proceedure and iam worried that i will be able to feel everything there doing and also are the nurses and that helpful after the surgery ?

  • @201034sarah Yes, you will be totally out for the whole surgery. your face will feel unpleasant when you wake up, but the pain medicine should really help. The nurses were extremely helpful during the recovery. I didn't think I was going to feel weak after waking up the next morning but it was difficult to stand. They pretty much supported me while I when I had to walk around the first day.

  • I see that you are awake at this point after surgery, did you know what was going on around you, or were you still dazed from being knocked out?

  • i was surprisingly lucid. i mean, i was obviously not 100% mentally there, but i remember feeling about maybe 80%. so no, i wasn't really dazed at all. I was exhausted though. I remember fighting to stay awake so i could at least say a few words to the camera.

  • How was the pain when waking up because I have to get the same surgery for my lower jaw hopefully this summer

  • @metroareatransit In this video there was really no pain; I was so exhausted that I couldn't really feel anything. I only stayed awake for about 8 minutes after my intial waking up, and then I slept until later that night. The hospital gave me my own pain medication dosage button, which I used liberally becuase not only does it dull any pain, but it put me to sleep.

  • THat looks like me and I was out of the hospital in prolly less then 24 hours :\

  • That looks like how I was after mine

  • @201034sarah The chance of waking up during surgery is 0.00006%. It rarely if ever happens.

  • @joejawsurgery My experience was totally different. I am 11 days post-op right now. The first three days after the procedure, I prayed for death it was so bad. By the 7th or 8th day, I started feeling pretty darn good. I literally wanted to die the pain was so intense and I was on morphine!
