Our family raises cockatiels. One set of parents were not sitting on their eggs, so we put the eggs in an incubator. Only one was fertile. This video shows the egg hatching and the new chick appearing. More info at www.FamilyBirds.Com

  • If there are 12 eggs, you probably have 2 females and therefore the eggs are not going to be fertile, so they are not going to hatch either way. One female usually only lays 4-6 eggs. Get ride of the nestbox, do not encourage 2 females to lay eggs together. If you do have just 1 hen, then she is suffering from non-stop egg laying and will die of calcium loss if you do not stop her. Remove the nestbox, move her to a new cage and temporarily seperate her from her mate.

  • Mines are in a box inside the cage. all they do is sit in there all day and only come out to eat should i take the eggs out and incubate them or let the parents sit on them theres like 12 eggs in there scares to grab them bcuz my cockatiels freaking bite an they bite very hard

  • Amazon for around $20

  • I can't remembe exactly, please refer to the directions that came with the incubator, I think it was 4 or 5 times per day, rotating end over end, but again, I can't really remember, it has been too long.

  • How do you tell if it's infertile or fertile?

  • @karenctran You candle them. If they are perfectly clear several days after incubation has begun, then they are no good.

  • where can i get an Incubator?

  • EWWWWWWwww

  • @aisianmixXD YOu need to rotate them and keep the humidity up by adding water. The incubator directions tell you how often to do both.

  • if i ever get another cockatiel (my other one died her name was Tico, and i miss her greatly) then ill name it Tico after my first and favorite bird :')

  • hey my cokatiels are i have 2 1 boy 1 girl the girl i guess wants to mate but the boy just never comes to the bottom of the cage and we got a nother boy but she just atacks him can u help me?

  • when i take it from parents its heavy then put it in incubator and next day it looks empty, does that mean its not fertile

  • hi, how do u control the humidity in the incubator, i put water underneath the foil and the foil like a cross over each other. the temperature is usually 95 degrees to 98 it changes. i put 4 eggs and flip them 3 times a day and none hatched, please help any tips

  • Did you check to be certain the egg was fertile before putting it in the incubator? Normally you candle the egg and look for development, If it is clear, then it is not fertile. If it was fertile, you may have had the humidity too low or not turned the egg enough (4X per day minimum). Do not turn the egg during the last 2 days before hatching.
