  • Wrong again. My dad has worked in the copper mines of Montana since the age of 18. If Reagan hadn't broken the unions, he'd be retired now, and living on a pension. I think you're exactly wrong. My father has worked full time since he was 13 years old, and he is very generous. He supports socialized medicine. Why, if you're so against giving free handouts, are you supporting the rich CEOs of the insurance industry, and the un-taxed rich?

  • Hell, I'm glade you pointed out the fact that im a hill billy redneck. Hell, I was feeding my horse scratchin my nutts Hahahaha. WE GOT A GENIUS here!!! hahahah Idiot!

  • CNN and MSNbc supports the Progressive Movement and their elected legislators which will be removed in November 2010.

Rep. Lloyd Dogget (D-TX) is going to be deleted.

  • There are better ways to get more Americans insured - they could have "No pre-existing condition clauses" they could allow insurance to cross state-lines thereby opening up competition (the public option does not open up competition) and they could have real tort reform that would lower the cost of malpractice insurance and thereby lower doctor's costs.

Unfortunately they came up with over 1,000 page bill that WILL RAISE COSTS and only addresses one of those issues (pre-existing conditions).

  • Obama has said in his words that he is in favor of a "Single-Payer System" (look up Obama-Single Payer System 2007)... "We won't be able to eliminate Employer Coverage immediately... there will be some transition period - I can envision, a decade out or 15 years or 20 years out..." Those are his exact words!!! That is what I mean by a "government takeover" - getting to a socialist, government run, single payer system where you will not have the freedom or option to buy private healthcare...

  • insurance company stocks, I meant.

  • @ConservativeMother You are being intellectually dishonest when you say "they want a government takeover." Are they buying all the hospitals? No. Are they telling doctors what to do? No. Are insurance companies going out of business? No. In fact, it is the opposite, look at insurance company stick--all of the are up over 10% because smart people know they are getting more custoners now because more Americans will be insured. Now everyone can get insured. It WILL LOWER COSTS.

  • want reform... they want a government takeover! Don't take my word for it - read the bill! Look at how vague they state everything and how they say in almost every section - "As the Secretary may see fit" (That is the Secretary of Human and Health Services).

Before Welfare Reform in the 90's - for ever dollar spent only 23 cents made it to recipient because of gov oversight - I think we will see the same exchange if not worse here... this will NOT lower cost!

  • want reform - they want a government take over...

  • These gateways and navigators will act like Unions over the Healthcare companies. Not only that - they will have full access to ALL your medical records! And they have power to change what your doctor is doing if they don't think it is right... I'm sorry - but I don't trust a group of gov workers to make decision on my health for me. I think we are too hasty on this bill and REAL reform (like allowing insurance agencies to cross state lines) is not even put in the bill! This admin does not

  • I'm sorry jensen1901... I am all for healthcare reform for the reason you state - but have you read this bill? I have only made it to page 45 so far and already I have found MANY things that I disagree with. In this bill (page 19) they want to repeal subpart 3 of the public health service act (42 3U.S.C. 300gg-11 et seq.)... That is your right to own private health care and your guarantee to renew that healthcare. They also want to set up "Gateways" (page 40) and "Navigators" (page 45)...

  • What ever happened to the Christian right of the repukian party anywhay? did they up and move to Iwrack? If Iwrack has universal health care then why don't Americans, huh? lets send all these hillbillies to Iwrack.
