Over 1,000 years ago, the Classical Maya in Central America looked toward the year 2012 as a time of great change and a shift in World Ages. As we approach that date, it appears they may have been right. Humanity faces a dire ecological crisis due to our reckless activity. Hollywood and the popular media link the end of the Mayan Calendar to chaos, cataclysm, and mass death. Is a bleak ending inevitable, or can we co-create a different outcome?

2012: Time for Change projects a radical alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee Joao Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 will herald the birth of a regenerative planetary culture, where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink.

  • @crimsontiderdotcom There's nothing pseudoscientific about it. It's social commentary about adjusting and adapting as a species to be more beneficial to the world as a whole, rather than detrimental. I don't think they make any extraordinary claims of spirituality, higher-consciousness, or any other bizarre, unfounded abstract concepts. It's just saying we could be doing a better job of living on the planet than we currently are.

  • all this 2012 end of the world nonsense the media is peddling is the world elite conditioning us for something big they have planned that they want to put in effect that year.

  • If you don't want to watch this film fine. Over the past 10 years there has been more natural disaster then ever more everything. It needs to change, people need to change. Some people will not accept the truth. Please don't say anything negative about this film until you have watched it! Thanks you

  • @tjcarroll2 Sorry dude...when a film claims to find "a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method"...that's pseudoscience.

  • @raalou i sell nothing yet want to help you what do you need>?

  • Nothing is going to happen you morons - You all just want to sell you nut-case books - and you know what you all want - MONEY MONEY MONEY - Idiots.

  • You can see Danielle from Garden Pool @ 1:12 - 1:17 in the background behind Daniel Pinchbeck to the right. We used 2012 as a date for being self-sufficient. Real change is possible when we make up our minds to do it now.

  • This is cool. But I feel the need to point out Global Warming is not man made. Every other planet in this solar system is going through global warming as well.

Anyways, humanity needs to change its relationship with Gaia.
