Two kicking designs for the 2010 FIRST season. We need to kick the ball 18+ feet to guarantee that we can pass the ball into the next zone. The bump and goal are placed according to field dimensions.

Any ideas?

  • That looks like a good approach. However, the kicker bar needs to be higher. You want the ball to loft just a tiny bit - a 15 degree ball angle is decent. That requires the kicker to be an inch or two below the ball center.

  • Surgical Tubing is the bestt stuff ever. You might have problems with reloading the piston though, that's a lot of air and a lot of battery power. But it looks like it's more accurate than the Method 2. Good luck!

  • cool desigh good jub guies..

but I just hate using pneumatics..-_-

    thanks for the idea

  • Sounds like a sorta remix of Deep Forest's "Forest Hymn"

  • off topic but whats the name of the song?

  • Thanks a lot, our prototypes weren't working well. Hopefully, this will give us some ideas.

  • Looks great, and is giving other teams out there some ideas as well. Cheers!
