They can be if programmed properly. And they're far more reliable than that old Oberheim.

I would like to point out that older analog synths such as the Oberheim OB-X (of which only 800 were made) are notoriously unreliable. They break down.... especially the REV-2 OB-X that Geddy used. They actually had technicians travel with them for each show. Still, nothing beats that stereo-panning OB-X brass sound in the beginning of "Camera Eye".

@maxcohen13 Because they're not "direct recordings" They're shitty romplers and workstation keyboards that sound nothing like the old synths.
-
@Synthfreak25 Right. Fucking. On. Except he sold his Oberheim OB-X to local Canadian band........ now's he's using a Moog Little Phatty and the new Taurus III.
-
Why, when today's synths are direct recordings of the same things, yet so much more?

pretty fast :)

Who says the guys from Rush never did Coke back then hehe
-
will always blow my mind how Neil was able to sustain these tempos throughout shows back then
-
great quality
perfect concert on the best year of rush

Wow. That's fast.
Geddy needs to bring back the Oberheim OB-X and original minimoog. Also, the taurus pedals
