@docjimbob I wondered the same thing about the scupper. This kit is fine for other boats, but the Ocean Kayak models have the special scupper for the transducer. Does anyone know what model transducer fits best / easist into that scupper?

And no, it wont read the temp but if you use the correct tranducer that the kayak was designed for it would.........

OK, but why not just use the Hummingbird Transducer specially made for Ocean Kayak as it will just slip right up through scupper hiole as the Torque model has the tranducer capatible scupper allready built into it? Heck for that matter why install the extra battery and not just use the one that powers the troiling motor?

I think it's better kayakers to stick with the cheap model until you guys catch up on technology and make it bullet proof. If I ruin a 400 piece of electronic I'd be sick vs a 99.00 one. There may be cases where we can't just flip it back over real quick.

The unit is waterproof but not submersible. If you have installed the unit where it is mounted to the kayak it will be fine if you right the kayak immediately after flipping.

The fishfinder is waterproof (not submersible) but fully waterproof. The mount isn't waterproof but the power and transducer connectors that go in the mount are gold plated so there is no need for waterproofing on the mount

The mount contains the transducer and power cable. These cables are sealed and the connectors are gold plated so they will not be damaged in any way by water.
