Guitar Hero 2: YYZ Bass

Having taken a break from Guitar Hero for a couple of months, I decided to start playing again. Here is a video of me playing bass on YYZ hard difficulty. This is my best performance by far.

In my opinion it is the complex phrasing that makes this song so difficult. Guitar Hero requires that you execute the exact series of notes as recorded by the studio musician. This makes it remarkably difficult to maintain a 4x multiplier.

To do well in this song, particularly playing the bass line, I find myself having to force myself to "hear" the bass line in my mind and play without thinking. There is simply not enough time to read the music "just-in-time" as the notes are about to be played. By the time you have read a note, you have already missed the window to play it.
