  • Clete Purcel is one of the all time greatest creations in literature.

  • Too bad he can't write 'em as fast as I read 'em. Clete and Helen are two of my favorite characters in all of modern writing.

  • Great author. His most recent book Rain Gods is awesome; the brilliantly-created characters are superb.

    "little j.w " very acute: says his hands and face were "tatooed" by the coal dust. "little j.w", a dangerous man...

  • i am french reader of french litterature and few american novels.his novel"to the bright and shining sun" is very good. The scenes of violence in the mine are terrible.

  • Great down to earth writer. Jolie Blon Bounce, all time favorite.  Clete Purcel is the best in the series...
