Some of V8 Supercars' most recognised faces took time out of their busy training schedules in the lead up to the Sydney Telstra 500 race this weekend, to visit some extra special fans at The Children's Hospital at Westmead, Sydney today.
Last year's Championship winner, Sydney-born James Courtney, of Toll Holden Racing Team along with Stone Brother's Racing's, Shane Van Gisbergen, Alex Davison and Tim Slade were accompanied by a very special guest, a Ford Performance Racing (FPR) car. The addition of the V8 Supercar provided the kids with a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a real V8 racing car and the men behind the wheel.
The young patients and their parents heard about life as a V8 Supercar driver, including all of the excitement and thrills, as well as the hard work required to get to the elite level. The drivers also handed out a selection of Disney Pixar CARS 2 merchandise to the delight of the kids, thanks to the V8 Supercar's unique affiliation with the film, which includes the world-first CARS Truck Tour attraction on show at the Sydney race on 2-4 December at Sydney Olympic Park.
Thanks u guys for making those kids so happy, the smiles on their faces were awesome when they came back to the ward!
