Sri Lanka Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage. part 1

Heres a video I made in 1999 whilst visiting the wonderful Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage in Sri Lanka. As we entered we were fascinated to find a snake charmer with his deadly Cobra snakes and a monkey and dog trainer,and shortly after we walked up to the river to see one of the most wonderous things I have ever seen,the sight of dozens of beautiful elephants bathing in the river with the help of their keepera the amazing "Mahouts" who look after the elephants many of which have come as a result of being orphaned because of Sri Lamka's rapidly dimiminishing forests,poachers and the war with the Tamil tigers.

The snake charmer in this video is a freind of mine.I spent three months volunteering at the orphanage at wich time I became good freinds with Kana(the snake charmer)

Thats interersting the Elephant orphanage was my favourite place in Sri Lanka its a truly inspirational place and as I said to my wife I would rather video a snake charmer than buy all the post cards in Sri Lanka those fellows are amazing too.
