  • Ah, the waiting game. This is almost exactly what I just put up with last week at my school. Going to South Korea though. I didn't mind my orientation, but just waiting on receiving an answer from the host uni is quite possibly the most tedious thing I've had to experience.

  • i just want to say that you have already made this vlog worthwhile. ty for all the help.

  • Good 4 U! In that case, money & the curfew of the host family are going to be your issues. Tokyo life can be expensive, especially if you like to do some night life activities. It costs much more than in NY to see shows of even very minor bands. But with 4- 5 days weekends, you can find some part time English teaching job, I think. ElevenColors made lots of videos about underground bands of Tokyo. Check them out!

  • my grades are not going to transfer from japan although i will still get credit, so i expect it to be a very easy time-perhaps 4-5 day weekends. they really gave me a blank check for mayhem :)

so, i work at a radio station here and know a lot of underground music; i want to see a lot of shows in tokyo: especially zazen boys & cornelius & the boredoms: along those lines.

i also just took a photo class and my work just happened to resemble daido moriyama's so i want to look into that.

  • BTW what kind of underground culture are you looking for?

  • My major was philosophy at Waseda as well. But I do not remember anything about it, hahaha. One thing you should know is that college kids do not study much in Japan. For them, four years of college are sort of long vacation of their life time. However, I guess it might be a different story for gaijin students. As long as your host family is nice, living aspect should not be too difficult for you. Waseda & Keiko are two top private colleges in Tokyo, followed by Sophia.
