Remember the Commodore 64? Commodore is back in action with their new flagship operating system. Based on Linux mint 10, this OS will power new Amiga computers that will be coming out. This OS is preconfigured with lots of emulators, software and games. Do you like eye candy? Commodore ships with compiz tweaked to offer eye popping special effects and sounds which are reminiscent of legacy computing.

  • Hey :-) The new beta of the Vision OS (beta 8) is was released today. I think this video is based on beta 6. It would be really cool if you could review the new beta. PRETTY PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE???

What?! No Radar Rat Race or Jupiter Lander?! Those were the games that came with my Commodore 64 back in the early 90s!

  • @rswan5 remember the game magazines that had 5 pages of code that you had to type in? And if you got just one typo the game would not work? So you had to type the whole thing in again or just plain give up? Oh the JOYS of early computing!

  • It is not my cup of tea.. It is funny though!

  • @MrDemilord Definitely a novelty distribution. I have received mixed feelings on this one. I was happy to do a review on it just because I have a taste for nostalgia!

  • I think it needs some more work. It's way too much based of Mint, and there's even an Ubuntu file in the ISO, everything they changed is eyecandy and some more features.

  • @LinuxSpatry So true. I was an Amiga 500 user, but i discovered that joy later, when my uncle gave me a Spectrum to play the programmer on its built in BASIC. Later on, when i was 25 years old, i found an AMSTRAD monitor and a CPC manual thrown away near a garbage can. At my 27s i found an AMSTRAD CPC sold for 2 Euros by a guy so i bought it. Both pieces of hardware worked fine and i discovered Amstrad's beauty. Now... i was waiting long for this revival. And how appropriate... running Linux!
