  • Talking Heads were using African rhythms in their music in the '70s, so MM was more likely copying them. But The Lion Sleeps Tonight was much earlier, and Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masakela and many others had some influence on Western popular music. Stevie Wonder, James Brown, ...
