This is a short clip from a History Channel Documentary about the movie, "Angels & Demons". It is attempting to put the movie in a true historical context, and explain some of the background included in it. On this very short clip on Roger Bacon, however, the producers chose so show some images from the Voynich Manuscript. It is widely regarded that Roger Bacon did not have anything to do with the Voynich, although I think there may still be some adherents to that possibility. Ironically, David Kahn is interviewed here about Bacon, and Kahn wrote a very good chapter on the Voynich in his book, "The Codebreakers". I doubt he knew the images of the Voynich would be included in this bit. Be sure to visit my page on the Voynich: http://www.santa-coloma.net/voynich_drebbel/voynich.html
I noticed there was a picture of Jerome shown...why did they show him...he wasn't a scientist and he lived hundreds and hundreds of years before Roger.

@Antisyncretism Good point. I did not realize that was Jerome! I did think that the producers did take license with the images used, and your observation is one more example.
