1986 Turbo Diesel Ranger 0-60mph ALL STOCK

My New 1986 Turbo Diesel Ford Ranger 0-60 The truck has an ACTUAL 91K MILES. Super Rare find! Very nice truck that needs very little body work. Gonna play with the Injection pump to give it a little more power soon, but still 10 times faster than my 83 non-turbo.

@FMF666 The Drivetrain is all Ford ranger... I think its the FM146. The bell housing comes off the tranny so you can put any ranger tranny in there.

@SteelCity1981 I hate to say it my friend, but once again it was not Ford's decision, but our wonderful government, in this case the EPA. You can still get a diesel engine in a Ford Ranger (saw some cool ones in Iraq along with Mitsubishi & Nissan)anywhere in the world as far as I know............except in the USA...........Thanks to.......the EPA.

I had a 1985 turbo diesel ranger and my brother had the even more rare ranger turbo diesel 4x4 ...that was the only one I ever saw. Too much vibration and the keyway on crank kept wearing out.

That diesel ranger could run circles around the 2.0L gas engine I had in my old 1987 ranger. The 2.0 L I4 gas motor only had 73/80 hp depending on 1 bbl/2 bbl carb set up (unfortunately, I owned the 1 bbl carb version).

i have a 87 diesel ranger,power is pretty impressive.45-50 mpg easy.

the engine is mitsubishi 4d55 turbo diesel,tranny is the fm146,similar to mighty max 5 speed ...(i believe) fm 145.but the ranger has a long throw shifter.

bell housings are interchangable with any 80's-early 90's 4-v6 ford manual trannies.

my ranger would roast tires in first,all the way threw second,bark a 3rd.

sadly my ranger has been parked for 5 years due to the chassis rusting out and breaking.still runs great though.

nicee the 83 ranger does 0-60 in 1 minute this one does in round 11 secs or 12 its very fast for a 25 year old pickup

Ford was stupid to quit making the diesel engines in their Rangers. Could you imagine if Ford had a diesel engine option for the Ranger and explorer all these years? they both would be still number 1 sellers and the Ranger might have never gotten the axe from Ford.
