Sarajevo Under Siege

A remarkable report filmed during the Bosnian coflict.
We travelled with a convoy over the mountains to besieged Sarajevo in war-torn Bosnia to film UN peacekeeping forces moving in to secure the runway at Sarajevo airport, inside Serbian territory. On the outskirts of Sarajevo, where families survive on little more than nettle soup, ordinary people say they need someone who will make peace - not keep the peace. A Bosnian Croat major tells of how small groups of fighters are verging on banditry. Meanwhile Serb artillery shells pound the suburb of Dobrinja. A damaged mosque illustrates the conflict. Includes footage of the airport under siege.

They are the ones that helped ruin the once beautiful Yugoslavia. Fuck the US government. We were all once peaceful and happy as true Yugoslavians

@VALDIGNE You can not compare vukovar and sarajevo, i the infrastructure form ( sarajevo has higher and larger concrete buildings, infrastructure is more developed, no fly zone establixhed). simply in one sentence: you dont have enough artillery rounds to flatten it like in vucovar. and those are pictures from 1992.. look at some in 1995

@Hiperid I Many areas were completely devastated ( stup, dobrinja, the center etc ) overall the city was not flatten to the ground like the serbs did in Vukovar. To me it seems you are the one doing propaganda here .

I hope they can all come to terms with this terrible period in European history and while never forget, learn to forgive the generations not involved in these wars. Let go of grudges, cause retaliation will just lead to more bloodshed and make either the Serbs or Muslims hated once again. Its easier said than done, but Im Jewish and I dont wish any ill will on Germans of today, as I hope in the future Serbs or Muslims and Croats feel toward each other.

I don't know how you say because of what some of the isolate crimes Muslims may have committed after the genocide against them started, negates what the Serbs did. Its like saying cause the Soviet Union killed hundreds of thousands of Germans and raped 2 million German women after Germany attacked it, Germany isnt that bad. Yes, what the Soviets did is horrible but what the Germans did is what caused it and resulted in many more deaths and much more organized too.
