Animal Rights Horse Protest @Central Park NEW YEARS EVE 08 Peta, hsus, aspca. war

Animal rights activists harassing and intimidating customers and carriage drivers on New Years Eve, 2008. The police had to move them twice for disturbing the peace. These are members of the group W.A.R. (win animal rights) in NYC. They want to be able to video tape us and hassle us, but they do not want us to video tape them. Hypocritical much?

I think that there ARE people out there who work their horses for hoursss and then stick them in a little wooden stall that they can not move around it. BUT, not every carriage horse owner is like that. You take well care of your horses, but there are those people out there.

@cowgal58 All stalls in NYC ARE A MIN OF 8X10 BY LAW. NO HORSE WORKS MORE THAN 9 HOURS, BY LAW.

Our horses and STABLES are monitored daily by the aspca,and regularly by the Health Dept,Consumer Affiars,NYPD,Parks Department, DEP. Each horse must get a full physical exam EVERY 6 MONTHS. Every horse gets a min of 5 WEEKS OFF A YEAR.So you are incorrect,"those people"are not our business.I should know I'm a carriage owner/operator,co-owner of Clinton Park Stables, I live on 108ac boarding ranch

Parasite?! I bought my horses a 108ac ranch to live on, they live better than you do! Watch some of my videos and you'll wish you were one of my horses, although I don't usually look for the lame sorry assed ones like you. You may qualify for a "horses ass" if you try real hard.

To finish my post: EVEN IF handlers were beating the horses out of sight, such as at the stables, it would SHOW in the horses.. they would roll their eyes, hold their heads high & away (dodging), jump, flinch, etc. whenever ANYONE came near them. These horses seem as calm as calm gets. Horses who are abused are NOT CALM ANIMALS when someone comes near! PETA ppl, get a clue! There are FAR WORSE abuses going on - go after the REAL ABUSERS, not some poor saps just trying to make a living! Sheez!

@StopLiesSeeTruth i am just learning the other side of the horse carriage issue, the one the activists don't show. i don't see any abuses going on. the horses seem well cared for. i was commenting on the use of bits. as a vet associate i know the damage they do we can't see. horses can be controlled without those archaic devices. bits should have gone out with the iron maiden, corsettes and slavery. to each his own.
