This is my entry for the Mike Marlin Music Video competition.

facebook.com/MikeMarlinMusic

In March 2011, I had one my films (My 60 Second Documentary About The Stuff What Is In This HOUSE: vimeo.com/17102873 ) screened at the Disposable Film Festival ( vimeo.com/dff ) in San Francisco. I was over the moon that it got into the festival, and took an 11 hour plane Journey to get there. I spent a week in San Francisco and had the time of my life. Saw some awesome things and met some brilliant people. I also took my DSLR camera, and here is an edit of the shots I took, to "Left Behind" (Instrumental) by Mike Marlin.

Features:

Chinatown
Alcatraz
The Disposable Film Festival at the Castro
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
Muir Woods
Golden Gate Bridge
Trams
California Academy of Sciences
Lombard Street
Pier 39
Fisherman's Wharf
Musee de Mecanique

  • @BlueCrayon77 yeah... didn't have a tripod with me ya see! I agree with you, still shots always look a lot better. FCP's Smoothcam filter did a great job at smoothing out some of the stuff. Hence why there are some really nice steady shots at least.

That's my fave shot too I think. Yeah.. that would have been better. Good thinking! Ahh well all done now. Thanks for your feedback :)

  • Cool. Always nice to see some non-verbal action!

My favourite shots are usually the rock solid steady shots. There's something about the hand-held wavering that lessens the beauty of things... if that makes sense! haha I doubt it.

3.43-3.45 I love that shot. Maybe it could have been cool to start the bridge bit with those shots and then reveal what you are looking at afterwards.
