A warts and all version (hide noises, tripod kicking etc) showing additional behaviour before and after the display. What is its fascination with the round bit of vegitation?

  • I was lucky to have the camera set up. Eurasian Bitterns are generally more secretive than American Bitterns, although, in winter in the UK, they get more numerous with an influx from continental Europe.

  • Very exciting! Thanks for sharing.

  • very very nice video... these birds were extinct from ireland for over the last 150 years and have recently been spotted in Wexford on the south east coast ... It is thought more than likely an influx from france and again Continental Europe where the winter has been very very harsh...we are all hoping they will stay here and breed! really nice capture in this video! thanks for uploading !
