Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the message of Gods unconditional love. Anyone can participate in this simple, hands-on project.
Last season, 713,294 shoe boxes from Canada were collected and distributed to children in more than 15 countries. Each gift is a special reminder to a child that he or she is loved. Delivered by teams of local pastors, charities, and civic leaders, Operation Christmas Child gifts provide opportunities to make a lasting impact on children, families and communities. Often, the shoe boxes open doors to provide other aid, allowing Samaritans Purse to provide resources for a better tomorrow.
Operation Christmas Child focuses on the true meaning of Christmas Jesus Christ Gods greatest gift. Separate from the shoe box and when culturally appropriate, we offer children The Greatest Gift of All, an illustrated Bible storybook in the local language. When possible, children can further explore a faith in Jesus Christ through a voluntary Bible study program.
The shoe boxes dont leave Canada on their journey overseas without first making an impact on the people who pack them. The project fosters compassion in Canadian families, individuals, and businesses by expanding their world view and showing how it is greater to give than to receive.

  • I can't believe your aunt left you, she's nothing without you. But I'm getting carried away, you have a better family now!

  • I'm so glad I'm doing it this year!

  • This was MY shoebox. It's true. The shoebox Juan Warkentin received in this video came from me. What a story. In his shoebox, Heidi and I left a photo and card with our names on it. He kept that card all those years. Juan contacted me shortly after he was adopted and moved to Canada. It blows my mind how a tiny gesture of goodwill and encouragement to someone I didn't know could change so many lives. Hallelujah!

  • So touching and sad. I love OCC. These kids deserve these presents more than anyone else.

  • these stories are so amazing I think they are fake

  • So inspirational.

Im so glad I came across this. My family is from Nicaragua so I witness the devastion that is occuring. The story of Juan is a story that all american children should hear to be appreciative of what they have. And in God's hand, I would love to adopt. Thanks for posting this.

  • This project also exists in German-speaking countries! I live in Austria and my sister and I contributed two boxes this year and last year!:) They normally go to countries in easter-Europe...

  • I went down to Nicaragua in August with SP. It was my third OCC trip as well. It was an awesome experience. Words cannot describe the joy on the children's faces when they recieved thier boxes.

  • Everyone that cares i encourage you to pack as many boxes for those little ones in the poor countries, cause really when they get them you have no idea what its like for them, what it means to their families that they recieve these amzing gifts from us. Its so fun. After my experience there,.I truely miss it..and the ones that were met along the way. Amazing place . Gods created beautiful things! Juan's got a great story thats all worht listening to. Remember everyone Jesus Loves You
