let the train plow the morons down as it should be, put big bumpers on the trains to prevent derailing and speed up at crossings to hit the morons good. So they aren't alive to potentially sue and waste more tax dollars

How dare the government take my right to cross a railroad crossing when a train is coming. I know it's in the constitution that I can run those things without getting a ticket. I read it in the constitution somewhere or other. Well I really don't know anything about the constitution but I'm 4409 so that don't matter do it.

@angryadrien Locomotives have grade crossing cameras onboard to capture a collision and serve as evidence during a lawsuit. That is just as well, because most lawsuits stemming from train v. auto are filed against the railroad, when its the driver running the gate or not paying attention.

that being said; this Redflex system is a way for the municipalities to line their pockets as well. It won't stop a grade crossing collision...just make the city money on the ones that make it

Hey guess what. Railroad crossing are owned by the Railroad aka a PRIVATE COMPANY. it's not government money going into it, it's Union Pacific's. Take it up with them.
