Imagine trying to crank back 200 feet or more drill pipe with that winch or trying to go through rock.. lol pretty crafty little rig though here in OK you could prob hit water with that thing.
-
@cabinetcrafter .. yea i have one of these machines and its all moves by hydrolics.. real easy to do instead of cranking..
-
@Appledude500 . hay do u do water wells?.. where do u live in?

Pretty good rig, but since you have hydraulics it seems like it would be easy to replace the hand winch with a hydraulic motor and chain drive or other mechanism. Also at the couplings weld two bars length wise to grab the pipe, then when your tripping in or out you won't need the pipe wrench. Just a few refinements, you have a very good start.

lol i guess this well drilling thing is father-son stuff im working with my dad too

Excellent video.
Where can I find more information about the design of the system.
-
I do want one of those rigs.

This is made by Ron Reed of Chico, CA. He has become an acquaintance of mine and really knows this stuff well. He has drilled around 40 water wells in tanzania africa.
I think Ron said they cost around $8-10k each and he builds them himself with his son.

how much do thay cost ?

Excelent Video.
Who sell this Rig? any Web page or email?
We only went about 20 feet on this test run, but expect it to have a limit of about 200 feet. Each rig has 200 feet of drilling pipe.
