Learn how to plot a course per standard compass on a paper nautical chart from the experts at U.S. Captains Training. Captain Neil Smith demonstrates finding points using the longitude and latitude scales, taking proper measurement on the compass rose with parallel rules, and converting degrees True to Compass. • NOW HEAR THIS NOW HEAR THIS . Having listened to the question very carefully I am definateley convinced that he has the chart upside down. Why would he say 70 degrees ?. An easy mistake under the pressure of cameras ? He actually say he's heading west . Cant really figure this guy not realising his mistake. 82.5 He STILL doesnt click on what he's done. puzzling. I would love to know the answer to this trick question. Maybe he's thinking ahead to his recipricol course? Why am I unemployed !!!!!!

  • very direct. solve's 95 pct of all nav problems!

  • hi everyone

  • @leoxoh #

The chart's the right way up for the camera!

  • the problem with going from true to compass is you dont have the compass heading to enter in the deviation card to get the deviation.

Putting the magnetic compass into the deviation card to get deviation isnt quite right.

so i was wondering how you did it .....................

    good video

im not saying your wrong or im right - im just trying find the right answer........

did you add to the deviation card - magnetic headings also to answer the problem????????
