  • When we are free to run the companies we have created, we become freer to view and navigate where we want to go. In larger organizations, the most successful corporations still act like an entrepreneurial start-up...such as Steven Jobs and Apple.

Passionate and engaging, each person in the company becomes a contributor to the companies success.

What is actually happening is we are bringing back the human part of the business world...the one that finds innovation from creative accidents.

  • You are so on target in your comments Susan...exposing those sensitive parts can seem to be a weakness, but really happens is when we lead with what we don't know, our strengths become our core competency. We also stop trying to learn new tasks that are wasting our time.

Like Bookkeeping. Although a good thing for entrepreneurs to understand, it should not dominate their time. I did ALL the bookkeeping at K2 in our early days when I should have spent the $ for someone to do it for me.

  • (Cont. Comment) I find this extremely sensitive. Telling the truth about undeveloped parts in your effort to start a business somehow means you are exposing the belly up side of yourself that makes you appear out of control. it's like,"WE JUST WANT THEM TO GO AWAY!"

This threshold has to be addressed in oneself if you are going to even get on a page in your book or even start to have people see you as a viable source of integrity in what you do.

  • Hi Brad,

Thanks for this short study on mgmt. I find this to be true if you are a single entrepeneur. You have parts of yourself that are not cooperating. Say you like to sing songs, but you are a little slack on the areas that you need to present those songs. Or say, your level of book keeping is a source of ignorance. In order to have these parts align with the already developed parts of yourself, you need to roll up your sleeves and be honest and find out what's not working.
