The game has gone into double overtime, with the Ducks scoring a field goal to open it. The Beavers need a touchdown to win and Ken Simonton provides it as he scampers around the corner for a score. It is bedlam at Parker Stadium as the fans storm the field and celebrate a huge upset against the hated rival Ducks. The greatest chapter in Civil War history comes to a close with the Beavers on top 44-41.

A lot of history in this rivalry game more history then I think most people know about its such a long exiting rivalry game and this win was the game that helped turn the corner for OSU 28 straight losing seasons 1971-1999 the streak wow such a great game and great rivalry go Beavs

this is really the game that turned everything around for oregon state. just think back then we had a smaller stadium, over 20 year old turf, no indoor practice area, and we hadnt won 5 games since 71'. now we have the greatest hb in the nation and have beaten usc and hav had 6 straight wins. go beavs!

I think the week prior they almost beat highly ranked UCLA. They've been a winning program since.

Watching this gives me a lot more appreciation for where the Beavers are right now... it's frustrating that we haven't been able to repeat our 2001 season's success, but sometimes we lose sight of the fact that eight years ago we were ecstatic to A: Win 5 games, and B: beat the Ducks!
