I think it is hilarious when people debate which sport is better... cricket or baseball... nfl or rugby... it's ridiculous. They are all awesome! I wish I knew enough about each of them to appreciate them all for what they are worth.

@dollarboy500 No offense taken. I always wanted to know more about cricket because sometime here I'm the USA I get tired to watching baseball. (Pardon my US spelling.)

This sport is worth living for...Baseball stinks

@disneyking81 In the test match format that is exactly what they can do , but a bowler only bowls 6 balls then he has a rest for six ball before he can bowl again.

If the guy doesn't have to run, why doesn't he keep blocking until the bowlers arm gets tired?
So does the guy just keep hitting until he is out? Or is there a set number of bowls?

@NicholasB1224 Different formats of the game , yes the guy can keep hitting till he's out , so he might score 0 , 1, 20 , 50 or even 150 runs before he gets out. The 20/20 & 50 over formats there is a limited # of balls bowled , the batsman remains not out when the max number of balls are bowled in those formats. ( yes guys, before you post I Know there is more to it but that will do for now )

wow so much equipment to play this sport! surely only the rich could afford such things, whereas third world countries stick to soccer, the simple but no doubt the most beautiful sport!

@amr2286 Actually the largest cricket playing countries in the world are from developing nations , some of the poorest in the world have the most people playing cricket. Countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and of course INDIA with 100's of millions of poor people , all love their cricket. They pick up whatever flat piece of wood they can use for a bat , make a ball of twine , or find an old tennis or rubber ball and stack up a few bricks and their playing cricket.

How's the run being designated; Does only the striker gained the run or both striker and non-striker get one run even though the non-striker did not bat the ball?
aruzman 11 months ago
@aruzman The person that hits the ball gets credit for the run even though both have to run.
