Asper School of Business student Andrea Legary explains how to give a successful elevator pitch. Shes a member of Aspers business team A2K Technologies, which recently won all the Alerus Entrepreneurship Challenge competitions awards: Most Innovative Idea, Best Elevator Pitch and Grand Champion. A2K also won the Lightning Round at the University of Oregons New Venture Championship and they won the Georgia Bowl in Atlanta.

The Asper School of Business has a world record 46 first-place finishes in business competitions since 1995 and A2Ks successes have won them a berth into Global MOOT Corp., the world championship business competition. This marks the eighth consecutive year the University of Manitoba has won a berth.

The Asper School is the only Canadian school, and one of only a handful in the world, to accomplish this.

  • waaay to fast!

  • this required your English speakning must really good .......

  • @daystarlynne I think I can overlook the reading. But insofar as the subject matter is concerned, cancer, I believe there is an appropriate delivery for the topic. Good example, but not the most appropriate one. Sounding so enthusiastic and pitching something that serious that quickly and casually, might rub an investor the wrong way. Especially as you have no way of knowing if he or a loved one of his has had any particular tanglement with cancer.

  • Great Pitch!

  • i would say not interested and irritating

  • I believe this is one of the best pitches I have heard. She clearly stated a problem which would be of interest to a large market (those over 40) including investors as people; introduced herself so that the listener could relate to her; described her product and its benefits and feature set; showed she understood the need for an experienced management team and an established distribution network; stated her goal ($3M + interview), and projected a meaningful ROI ($150M).

  • Yep she is reading and I don't think nobody wants to talk about cancer in the elevator and talking that fast. FAIL......

  • but you're reading a cue card?

  • Thanks Andrea, was a lot of help
