He's really actually the greatest German Tenor, yes, perhaps even since Fritz Wunderlich! His italian technique, sung in German, is it probably what Wagner himself had in his mind in composing his Opera's, as a "Wagner Tenor" didn' even exist. My greatest wish would it be, to sing one day together with Jonas Kaufmann!

Ah, someone who can actually, finally make Wagner attractive!!
His Mozart is superb and a composer in a different league of course
than Wagner...am hoping he does more Mozart, Schubert, and Beethoven than Wagner.... yep I'm a musical chauvinist in regard to wagner - but then so were
a few generations, following Wagner's admirers in the 20th cent....... thank goodness though for someone like Jonas K...-- such a sweet sound, it reminds me of a very different landsman, Dietrich F-D...

Kaufmann = BARITONE

wow hes cute. I love music in diffrent languages like Vitas hes really good and he sings all in russian but thats just because he is russian. I love that.

Rolando is for Mediterranean Composers as Kaufmann is for Germans and norther ones.
-
his speaking voice is so soft spoken and mellow, but his singing voice is like a storm.

sobchakdrums I'm very sorry but these tenors are RIP give Jonas a change please
-
Yes, he should stick to Wagner........

@sobchakdrums not really fair to say, considering we're talking about two very different voices. Melchior and Lorenz and Windgassen were Heldentenors, Kaufmann is a Lirico-Spinto. Kaufmann's technique is healthy, and he certainly sounds more baritonal than Melchior and Lorenz. Please direct your opinions where they could have some constructive value.
-I haven't heard a better Fernem Land
-This tenor is the first tenor I truly like after Fritz Wunderlich
