Waterfall isn't correctly descriptive of what you see. But construct a mass of tech junk, pump water up thru tubes then routed back down via trinkets, toys and found objects with building supplies and "Water Falling" is as good a title as any. Around 20 ft. high, plants and lamps and things were built into the wall which started out as a simple ambient lobby feature and blew up. Obsessed with TRUTH, I built my live kinetic studio lobby entrance sculpture upside down. This video is work in progress as I find more scraps of content, what you see was not shot for use, only documentation, not knowing I would ever loose the building and the time to finish it, video statement included. It began innocently, working at night, while bands were in the studio, the wall lit up lasers, monitors and minds. Some more than others. Uniquely inserted in the water flow, video cameras fed the studio monitors frames of movement and light from inside the structure along with the standard parking lot security views. Composed by Field Monroe (guitars, keys) and recorded at Chandler's Studios (RIP) in San Pedro Calif. around 2006 with RT Hicks (bass) and Tony Burke (drums)The original music evolved along the same time line in the studio as the waterfall was constructed in the next room. "ECHOMAN" began as a tricky 1.5 time delay loop riff. Recorded direct (except live Pearl Export drums) using Line 6 Variax bass and guitars (with a Line 6 Echo unit) and Alesis QS6 (keys) into a Roland VS2400 CD hard disk recorder. To be continued
