Take a peek behind the scenes of a one light wonder lighting set-up in the studio with beauty photographer Joe Edelman.

Joe describes many of these set-ups on his blog http://www.joeedelman.com/blog/

This video takes you into the studio with him as he breaks it down and shows you how he applies it to a shot with a new model for her modeling portfolio.

  • wow, it was like that video only contained useful, well thought out and clearly explained information, with a excellent example of it put to use at the end...Brilliant!

  • Thanks so much!!

  • @TheHabihan Seriously??? It is a strobe - which means it is a flash. If you are trying to figure out how I lit the video.... it is light with the modeling light from the strobe and as I move closer to the camera there is a light on the right side (out of camera range) to illuminate me while I am talking

  • @PhotoJoeEdelman ... I see... so it's only one light...

about the photogenic strobe, is it a flash unit or a continuous light?

  • @TheHabihan The Photogenic Strobe that you see in the video is the only light used until the very end when I walk closer to the camera. At that point there is another light on camera right that is there only ofr the purpose of lighting me for the video - it had no impact on the still frames.

  • yeah I like the video... I just wanted to ask what kind of lighting equipment you used? (the one with the honey comb) did you provide another light (low contrast light) to illuminate the whole studio?.... I'm looking forward for your answers... thanks a bunch
