Victoria Rowell and Kristoff St. John present Patrick Muldoon (ex- Austin) with the SOD Award for Hottest Male Newcomer. The show aired in Feb. 1994. Paolo Seganti and Sean Kanan were also nominated.
*This (I believe) was the infamous show that caused Soap Opera Digest to change their nomination format due to the overwhelming number of DAYS wins.*

Wow...I haven't seen this in forever!! I absolutely LOVE him. I had the biggest crush on him when I was like 13!!!! I have also met him like 4 times, and he is such a nice guy!! Love you Patrick!!

Yep, if I recall correctly, they used to allow every show to be nominated in every category, and the top 3 vote getters were the nominees. When they tried it this way, DAYS won pretty much every award.
After 1994, they didn't allow every show to be nominated in every category. The magazine chose the nominated shows and the nominees. The next year DAYS only won like 5 awards ( but, they still won every category they were nominated in).

I didn't realize SOD changed their format, but I do remember all of the Days wins. I love how the loudest cheers were for Patrick before the winner was even announced.
I saw Patrick Muldoon in person once (but he didn't see me). I was in Monterey, CA with my parents and my dad came out of the Doubletree hotel telling me he was there but it cost $25 to see him. I didn't have $25 but went to the hotel and was able to get a quick peek of him through the door of the area he was in. :o)

I would have loved to have seen Patrick Muldoon back in the day. I used to have an unhealthy crush on all of the men on Days during the early 90's.
