  • Its not that you can't translate French into English and keep the feel and magic. They did it perfectly for 'Les Miserables'.

Its that not as much care was ever given to translating this musical. Its also that the music, besides from a number of exceptions, was dull and uninspiring. The set was unimaginitive and the choreography was terrible. A stage that size has so much potential but the went minimalist. Should have been more Quasimodo and less of the Gypsies.

  • Bruno ♥

I think that i prefer french version or thin, when he sings first in french, later in english... But it's still Bruno!

  • Восторг!!!

  • Ugh, there is no replacement for Bruno Pelletier, this version is absent of the emotion that Pelletier delivers. Here is how one of Pelletier's songs would sound in english

Youtube "Bruno Pelletier " Le temps des cathédrales " It is him singing at the World Music awards, video is posted by PopsTake4

Skip to 2:30 and he switches to english, the first part is in french

  • Ugh

There is no suitable replacement for Bruno Pelletier. This is horrible in comparison, it is devoid of the emotion that Pelletier gives.

  • this is really good. him voice like bruno's and he sang brilliant. bravo!

  • To my mind, the french version sounded much better, and it doesn't depend on the singer. Probably, the french language is essential for french music...

  • I don't speak French at all, but the French version is SO MUCH better!! And Bruno's voice also sounds much better in French. Problem solved...I'll stick with the French version!

  • Je n'ai pas de mots pour décrire tous les frissons que me donne cette chanson, une merveille qui est faite pour durer, avec la sublime voix de Bruno Pelletier. En anglais comme en français, c'est magique.

  • Its just how it is - The original will always be better than the translated... but none the less a beautiful song in both languages
