@Digadogup WHAT?? I don't know how it is now in the U.S., but when I was in high school (early-mid 90's) one of my favorite demonstrations was our chem teacher chucking a few grams of Na into a water bucket. Heck, he gave some of us gloves after school and let us do the tossing.

@Basco36 can it catch in fire if its exposed to air or it just tanishes and is it easy to melt???

@dukilaki if you leave it in air it just oxidizes into sodium hydroxide, yes its easy to melt

@Basco36 Sodium doesnt form sodium hydroxide in air, doesnt it just form Na2O. It forms NaOH in water.

@QuantumOverlord there is water in the air that turn the sodium NaOH, If you burn the sodium would make
its oxide / peroxide
