This is my review of Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. A fantastic film from 1971 starring a young Malcolm McDowell.

  • great review!!! think I must see this one :D

  • @mrhorrormovieguy Definitely see it, great characters, story, messages and it's one of Kubrick's best.

  • I loved both Clockwork Orange and The Shining the movies more tha

n the actual books because Kubrick pretty much enhanced both works. I watched this movie once with a group of friends and her mother came in to do laundry as the rape scene was playing lol.

    Great review!

  • @FillingtheVoidReview Thanks so much! I haven't read the novels of those either. The Shining and Clockwork Orange are my 2 favourite Kubrick movies.

see all

  • If you see the film, then you must read the book, it is a literary masterpiece

  • @pacmon99 not at all good sir.

  • @Arbitr0n oh yes I agree, the subject matter is really disturbing although I still think it was very unappreciated in the 70s when it was new. (most) people couldn't see past the heavy themes in order to understand the message of morals and man's ability to choose and choose for others.

  • @Arbitr0n the subject matter is. lol sorry for this long response

  • @Rasberrysundae101 very true, but what makes it so much more unsettling then what we see today is that the violence portrayed in clockwork is much more stylized and often sometimes implied. also it depicts violence in ways to truly frighten you, such as you being raped or tortured in the safety and sactuarary of your own home, a place where are supposed to feel secure and safe. Clockwork Orange is commonly looked at as a an ultra violent film, when in reality the violence is not that graphic but

  • @LoveSenseDimension i respect your opinion, although you have to admit the violence isn't that bad compared to other things we have today.

  • The violence is hard to watch, but to really understand Alex and the story it's needed for the film.

  • @Moviefan7359 Great review

I like your description in the info bar, but I think the copyright gestapo will still be able to get your video off

  • 10 out of 10 for me

  • @pacmon99 Some people might. Most people just like it because they appreciate good filmmaking.
