just a few little tests i did with my new CANON FS200 e.g motion and zoom tests
for the price of this cam i think the image quality is pretty good. overall i am happy with this purchase the only thing is my editing software does not recognize the audio from the video so i have to import it separately(no big drama really). this cam is super small too fits right in my pocket.
all the settings where on auto in this vid and no tripod was used.

original music track made by my good friend Steve

also if you get this camera i would recommend using a program called sdcopy to copy the videos its easier and can flag the correct aspect ratio(16:9)

=============================================

Records over 3 hours in highest quality video to a 16GB SDHC card
Canon lens with 41x Advanced zoom for high magnification in crisp and vivid detail
800k Sensor & DiG!C DV II Processor
Large 2.7" LCD display that includes backlight and brightness controls
Real Widescreen is standard so you can enjoy your movies in 16:9 aspect ratio
Quick Start, Quick Charge Intelligent lithium battery, microphone and headphone socket

================
update if you use premiere pro (i use cs3 but may work for all) and have no audio when you import the video (.mpeg) then DL this ad2ac3dec.dll file and put it in your premiere pro root directory. It worked for me :)

  • @wearelucky13 HI, try using a tool called SD copy the download link is in the more info section just above, it's easy to use. you use it to copy the videos from the cam to computer and it makes the videos 16:9. you can upload original video files to you tube i have done it with a couple of my vids

  • What format did you upload this in to maintain true widescreen?

  • I've found the Canon Legria an absolutely great camcorder, easy to use as "run and gun" camcorder. Ideal camcorder for tight corners and to take with on hikes. Premiere Pro 5.5 accepts AVCHD with ease and one can also mix different formats in the same timeline. Another option is to buy NEOSCENE. It will convert your AVCHD footage into most editing software formats.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • just out of curiosity, I bought one of these last December and about a week ago it's developed a stuttering sort of ticking noise on the audio which is audible in the final footage. I can also here the noise from the actual camera whilst filming. Do you have this problem? If not then I clearly have a faulty camera or I need to change the audio settings but there's nothing I can find that has made any difference. The camera hasn't been stretched beyond it's capabilities. Great footage. Thanks

  • hahaha nice chicken is he yours?
