  • That's not Funchal. You're driving in Boa Nova and in the end near the Salesianos School. Those old roads are used only by the people that still live there. No one use them anymore... I wonder how they are building in your own town without the cranes. They use slaves instead?...

  • According to CTT you need to address Funchal in that area that we were driving. But Lagosta ... don't feel offended by this video ... as it is only to show visitors the roads that most of them will not take when they are on holidays on the island. Driving these roads I have learned that you need skills and guts to be able to do it ... and that is what most Madeirians have. But it seems you don't know these roads very well because there is a lot of traffic during the week on them ....

  • About the cranes ... where I come from its all flat so ... we have dwarfs doing the job. ;-)

  • la ciudad de Cristiano Ronaldo

  • Y ahora comprenden onde que Cristiano aprendió jugar fútbol...

  • This is NOT Funchal. This is a secondary road with 100 years old. This road is only used by the persons who live in that area.

You should also write that Madeira has much better and saffer roads than most capitals in Europe.

  • I practice my driving in that area when I went to driving school more than 10 years ago.

This video finishes right in front of Salesianos School. I went to that school in my childhood!

  • I drove there with a big ford transit, the road is not narrow as other i have driven, but that road is too down hill you need good breaks.

  • Just write Funchal and search! You'll have one of the most beautifull places you can find.

A perfect "anfitheatre" morfology makes many older streets quite steep and narrow!

Some were not made for cars, but adapted, as you may find allover the world

in towns witn more than 500 years old!!

After some hours driving will de all right to dgo nearly anywhere!

  • For the information of everyone saying that these images are NOT in Funchal I am here to say that YES it IS!

Everything that is from the borders of Cancela all the way to just before Camara de Lobos, from the ocean to and including Monte, is considered Funchal. Postal service isn't wrong is it?

As for the roads, well... during that little trip, the driver went past various places where tourists stay. Also you would be amazed at how many tourists actually LOVE going through those roads!

  • How far is it from Madeira to Lisboa? How long does the journey take?by ferryboat,obviously..

  • Eazz, I started doing roads like that on my second driving lesson, Its not as hard as it looks, besides, we are used to it.

  • WTF

  • That is easy...the rest easyer

  • I just spent a week in June driving all over the island. No problem at all so long as you have your wits about you. Not for novice drivers though.

  • me too i have been in escola salesiana artes e oficios wich year u have been at the school?
