OSHAWA, Ont. -- The Durham College women's volleyball team defeated Seneca College with a quick 3-0 sweep at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre Thursday night. Set scores were 25-20, 25-20 and 25-16.
Offensively, Sam Roelofsen led the way with eight points while Kerri Fotherby and Natasha Jakovljevic had six points apiece. Fotherby also added a team high nine digs in the win. Setter Kourtney Cyr did an outstanding job distributing the ball as seven Lords recorded kills.
Rachel Bonetta scored a team high seven points for the Sting.
The Lords sweep the season series against Seneca, as they defeated the Sting by the same score in North York earlier in the year.
Durham is now 6-5 and in fourth place in the OCAA east region standings. With the win, the Lords are on a two-game conference winning streak which stretches back to 2010.
The Lords will take to the road next weekend for matches in Sudbury against Cambrian and Boreal. Durham's next home game is on Tuesday, January 25 against the Georgian Grizzlies.
