SF Muni New Flyer D60 9117 ride

San Francisco Muni. 1991 New Flyer D60 #9117. Detroit Diesel 6V92TA with Allison HTB-748 transmission. On route 38BX Geary "B" Express. Articulated buses are sometimes seen on the Richmond express routes. Recorded using Canon PowerShot A540.

@dmcman108 I don't think these buses are used regularly. They seem to be used when there are not enough buses available or something.

Just saw #9102 (a D60 in the silver/red paint scheme) running the 14 Mission line. I caught it at the corner of Sickles and Mission. Looks to be recently cleaned up and the exhaust also looks new.

@82MB240D I'm never at the right place at the right time, I have not seen or heard the D60 in a long time. Usually I have my digital camera ready in case. You never know where or when it shows up.

I just saw a D60 operating on the 49 line this past Tuesday. No, I did not make a typo.

Recently, Potrero Division is having fleet issues there so sometimes you'll see motor coaches on the 22, 24, 49, etc.

@DaPlatinumJedi Yes I heard that one of the D60 recently is running on the 49 line and maybe the 14 as well. I have not seen it myself but I have my camera ready in case I see it. Very rare to see the D60 out on the street.

I may have lived in Daly City, but when i was little and growing up.. omg you could hear these busses GROWL! literally loudly.. it was an alarm clock for me and i miss these old New Flyer Artic busses. they were sweet.. unlike todays NABI's... i mean the Nabis are cool but it isnt the same.. last time i saw a New Look like this was in January Runnning the 9 Sunnydale. Good Times

i just rode 9122 last week and 9121 two weeks ago they have like a few left and they were on the 14 line haha. Also i rode this one as well to last week.

@lpcmidst128 Had I not been paying attention I would've missed it but I heard that distinctive 6v92 sound and I just happened to look up and there it was! I wish I had my camera when I saw it too.

the 38 does not go to Ocean Beach anymore but the 38L goes to Point Lobos and 48 ave and the 38 goes to the same place and also the 38goes to the VA Hospital I you take the bus all the way to the VA Hospital you will need to walk a few blocks down to Ocean Beach now the 38 instead of going to ocean Beach it goes to 32nd ave and Balboa If you want to go to Ocean Beach with that bus and you take it to 32nd ave and Balboa you need to continue wiht the 5 Fulton, the 31 Balboa, or the 18 46th ave
