  • this is how an electric guitar should be played and sound.... a guitar and amp and not with a thousand rack effects to cover up his mistakes...

    long live blackmore

  • @mustangbob351w Im a HUGE hendrix, page and clapton fan, and in general don't like technical speed playing that much, but I CANNOT justify calling blackmore overrated...he's probably one of the most underrated guitarists ever

  • Poor? How on earth can you call that poor? I've seen Ritche play live many times too and this is awesome! But hey! You're entitled to your opinion

  • I LOVE Ritchie. THis was a poor performance. I've seen him live many times and this one doesn't stand up.

  • almost like The Beatle :X

  • @PROFBOTULISM Its an art to love without hating,,,,,,,

  • @mustangbob351w his early days generally were him trying to cram as many notes into a bar as possible (which isnt bad, believe me)... I'd check some of his later stuff like when he played with rainbow, check out their live stuff (particularly the 1977 german stuff, all the way through to the 1995 "rockpalast" gigs)..I will part with this: Ritchie is one of the only players in history that can be recognised simply by the sound of his playing than having to watch a video with it

  • @PROFBOTULISM I agree! (except for the stupid hair part! Rock and Roll IS LONG HAIR!!!) And much, much more!

  • @mustangbob351w I know! My guitar teacher, and many FAMOUS and BADASS players say the same thing! Some of his stuff is BADASS, though!

  • Ritchie is one of the top 10 best guitar players in the history.

  • I am sorry but his playing is to me rambling. I like all styles but just can't understand his playing just noise. The bands he played with sound great, but I just don't get him. My guitar teacher was the best guitar player I have ever saw live, including Van Halen, Via, Satriani, ect, unbelievable to watch, he told me that he loved Blackmores playing??? Everyone likes different things. I like simple to extreme as long as there is melody and rhythm to it.

  • @mustangbob351w

For me his musicality rocks some amazing solos in the 70's, I agree this solo is not the most exciting. Put into context though his music I still listen to now often 40 years later
