This is a recording of outdoor warning sirens going off in town as I was driving by them. Sirens heard in the video are Whelen rotational sirens, one with a broken rotator.
@HaisterCaisterShow Unfortunately, if you live anywhere where there's weather, you're not 100% safe from tornadoes. We thought the same thing here in Waco, Texas--that a tornado could never strike here--until the afternoon of May 11, 1953, when an F5 storm plowed into our city, claimed 114 lives and did about $42 million worth of structural damage. Interestingly, our only existing skyscraper, the 22-story Amicable Life Insurance Co. (now known as ALICO) Building was left almost totally intact.
Gosh I hate this sound... reminds me of that feeling I used to get when we were hiding in our basement during a tornado! Luckily where I live now I think were done with tondados...
We have fin-backed 4004s in our town, thought they were Vortexes at first too until they did a voice test over them. Reason I thought they were Vortexes is because it's rare when they do perform voice broadcasts over the sirens, most of the time it's tone only. I think they do voice once a month on the last Friday's test (tested every Friday in tone only, except for the last one).
OMG! You responded 2 years later LOL LOL LOL!

They think putting Rudders on the back of them will help take stress off the rotators.

really scares me even though I'm in the UK and we will probably never get a single tornado!
